Channel 4 , Swiped, The School That Banned Smartphones

Watching Channel 4 now, at last phone and internet use by children being discussed! x
Missed it but hope I can watch on the app ( if I can get it to work!)
I think it is a good thing to ban phones at school. I was at school in the early 2000s and back then video quality was very poor but people would download shocking images and vids to shock others. My first exposure to pornographic images was from school...can't imagine how bad it is now.

Yes scary at the young age children are accessing porn, in turn crimes such as this are massively on the increase - something else needs to be done and the bigger picture needs looking at, the answer isn't to just lock people away in prison for longer periods of time.

Was one that passed me by but I will catch up.
As I've said before my georgeous innocent (fastly growing up) grandson has a new mobile, fantastic for keeping in touch as he has more responsibilities. But I fear for him in this world we live in today and the horrors he 'could' be exposed to.

My child's school is going phone free and mentioned the show today in the schools newsletter. If you watched it last night, would it be suitable to watch with my 14 year old to keep them engaged in the use of phone and habits that form around it or is it not an appropriate watch?
Hi I'd say it's okay for young people to watch as the children in it were around 13 to 14 x
