Social Services?

Hello - we are still on this horrible journey and in the investigation stage. I read a lot about social services on here and how challenging they can be. If someone is convicted do they only get involved if you have children? We are childless so there shouldn't be any risk on that front, I am hoping, if the worst happens, we will only have the police and probation to deal with. Thank you for your help!
