Getting back together is it possible

My husband was charged for possession of indecent images this was 2 years ago socail was involved at the time I deside to split up with him need to put my son first now as it's been two years since socail loses the case he is a low risk and he sees his son supervised by me at the moment when he turns 7 he can have unsupervised contact what I wanted to know did any one get back together and try and make it work and has it been a positive experience it's been 6 years since his offence and he has also done course with Lucy faith he is still on the register he will have 6 years left on the register.
