I'm going to visit OH tomorrow because he has told me in a letter that when it comes to him being released (which is a long way off yet), that he will need to give my address and say he will be living with me!

he reckons, if you haven't got an address to go to upon release, that the prison recall you..........is this correct, or his he just screwing with my head again?

I wouldn't let my husband home. He was released and had to go to the local housing department to be allocated emergency homeless accommodation.

Thanks Anxious.

I've got no intention of having him back and I was 99% certain he was just messing with my head AGAIN!!!

This is NOT true! I can only speak from own experience. My ex didn't have anywhere to go when he left prison. After about 2 weeks of living in bnb's etc, his probation officer got him into a shared house with other ex prisoners. Your persons living arrangements when he gets out is entirely his problem. Do not allow him to use your address in any way because IF he reoffends, your address could end up in the media etc. The only reason he would be recalled to prison would be if he broke the law again or he didn't stick to his SHPO rules etc. I'm sorry but I think he's trying to manipulate you for his own gain. Also, depending on whether you live in a property you own or you rent, you could be putting your tenancy agreement at risk. I was threatened by my housing association with eviction after his arrest. If they thought he'd moved back in, they would have every right to evict me. I'm never going to let that happen! X

As above - he's homeless and will be allocated social housing / shelter accordingly. The only way he'd be refused that - is if he is still on your tenancy, if you rent.

I think these people lie so much, that after a while they just bend reality whenever they can.

We have a joint mortgage and my solicitor told me legally he could have returned to the marital home and there wouldn't have been anything I could have done about it.

Luckily the council didn't go down that route when they were looking at housing him.
