Evening lovlies xx
I almost forgot it was Friday, how can 2 days throw you off so much x
I hope the last couple of days have been full of some much needed happiness ( despite this journey)
Xmas day went really well, I managed to get the timings of the dinner spot on without burning anything ( Dawn19 no pun intended)
My daughter and her BF and of course the furbaby arrived at 12 ish, we had dinner at 14.30 (quiet early) then took FB for a walk
HC phoned and was ok, a few of the guys on his wing were able to all get together in the communal room where they all brought snacks to share ( they buy bits from the canteen) then one of the lads brought his xbox, another brought his stereo, they sat around chatting etc, he then called once he was locked up and we had a 2 hour call where he was able to share us opening our presents, we played a few games ( name that tune) its funny how you learn to adapt xx but as a bittersweet moment it still made our day so special xx
I was back at work today and treated the guys to a Mcds brekkie ( not sure if it's a treat or not but its what they picked :-) x
That's me done at work until 2nd so time to just relax, unwind and take the furbaby out for a few walks,
Thinking of you all as always & love sent xx

Hi Friday check in
I know what you mean Upset. We have entered that weird time between Christmas and New Year where we don't know what day it is, who we are, or what we're supposed to be doing lol
We had a quiet Christmas day - just me, my OH and youngest daughter. Now she's 16, there is no jumping on our bed at 4am to open presents, instead we got up before her and was really tempted to jump on her bed to get her up. My OH always cooks the Christmas dinner. We watched Wonka in the afternoon as there was no family film on the TV, before watching Doctor Who, Wallace and Gromet and Gavin and Stacey.
Our other daughter had planned a quiet Christmas at her house with her boyfriend and baby daughter, but it turned out to be very eventful with calling out the fire brigade. She had put too much oil for the Yorkshire puddings which caught on firem luckily it was all contained in the oven and she didn't burn the house down. She's supposed to be moving house in the new year, so it's a good job she didn't burn the house down or she would have definitely list her deposit lol
We had a boxing day spead yesterday - my mum and dad, and daughter with her family came over. Today we are just having a chilled day.

Hello friday check in
Yes almost forgot its friday. I am off til the 6th so now have a nice break. I have been struggling this xmas more that others even though we are 2.5 years post knock. Throughout this journey my OH slept in the lounge which meant we were together 24/7 in the day. As i suspected now he has his own room, he now goes in there a lot to play his computer games. Along with his migraines has left me literally sitting on my own throughout xmas. One son in America who is not good at communication, one son workig and my daughter did watch a xmas film with me on xmas eve. We did play a game of Dominoes which did not take long on xmas day, but i still enjoyed the time. We did sit as a family before my son started work, but my son does not really speak to his dad Not really happy families.
Today i told myself off, and cleaned the house, ordered a pizza and had a nice drink i bought at a xmas market. Feeling better and will ne going out tomorrow. So things are on the up.
Hope everyone had the best possible xmas. Heres to the new year xx

Hello Friday Check In xxx
Glad Christmas is nearly over, very quiet during Christmas Day but had friends stay in the evening. It was lovely to have them here as took some of the loneliness away. I miss my family so much it hurts but they made that choice not me.
Wishing everyone a better 2025 and what ever is around the corner, we will find the inner strength to cope xxxx

Hello Friday check-in - I'm a bit late I know!
Despite everything we managed a fairly 'normal' Christmas Day - we were allowed to have the grandsons round for a couple of hours (with my daughter and son in law) which was lovely - it's the first time my hubby has seen them since the knock way back in August.
We are now in that in between bit where you eat nothing but leftovers and don't know what day of the week it is!
New year is looming and he has his first Safer Lives meeting on 2nd. I'm still waiting to join an Inform course - hopefully it will be soon!
He's also returning to work in January after being signed off since August with depression and anxiety. I feel I'm forcing him to go back and I'm hoping he can cope.
In the meantime I'm going to build a Lego Kingfisher (pressie from Lego mad eldest daughter) and use my new Cricut to create wedding invitations and place cards for youngest daughters nuptials in 2026!!
Wishing everyone a very peaceful New Year xxx
