Process After CPS?

Hi everyone could someone please tell me what all of the processes and steps are after CPS make a decision? And how long each step takes please? It would help me if you also say which part of the country too but I know that's asking too much, thank you all x
Hi sydhuds - CPS will decide on the outcome and if it's to charge, what the charges are. That is then relayed to the police who charge the person (it seems to be a mixture of calling them in to the station or just sending in the post which I think is shocking in case it goes astray or is opened by someone else) At that point a date will be set for a plea hearing in the magistrates court but as for a timescale it used to be within 4 weeks but I'm guessing that is optimistic at the moment. Then things are varied, depending on the offences and the plea but if it's a guilty plea mostly it gets deferred to the crown court for sentencing (another stretch of time which is probably longer than it used to be) and the person has to sign the register and have various reports written up to help the judge decide on the best sentence for that person. If a not guilty plea it goes to trial and from what people say on here and what I hear in the news, the wait is many months for that, even years.
I'm saying all this from my own reading as for us it's 2 years since arrest and it hasn't gone to the CPS yet although we were told a month ago that it was ready to go (probably hot air as we've had so many predictions that haven't happened.) If it helps, our district is Wiltshire.
Do ask again if I've not mentioned exactly what you'd like to find out.....

Thank you so much for the reply x
I have heard it can take 6 weeks from after CPS make their decision for the police to then charge. Does anyone have any timescale for this please? x

We had the knock in May 2023, Released on bail. 2nd Interview was in August. Went to CPS and then charges brought at the start of December 2024. Just been to Magistrates and Crown is next month.
Bump x
My experience was before COVID so timescales may vary
Second interviews are only really given if new evidence is found and generally when police say if they have enough to go CPS.
Once CPS have set the charges the police should be quick to have these handed over. Was a month the plea and then another another month to sentencing, if pleas guilty.
Most need to sign up to the SOR at plea hearing if pleas guilty

For my person charges came in September.
First hearing at magistrates 4 weeks later. Crown court plea (guilty) 4 weeks after magistrates. Sentencing this month which will be around 8 weeks after plea.
