Charges cautions?

Happy new year all, I hope your all keeping as well as can be?
Just a quick one, my person is being charged at the end of this month, but a few things have gone round our heads, like when do the police typically give a caution? Will he have to sign the register the day he answers charges? When will he get a copy of evidence? Currently looking for a new solicitor. Nervous wreck, heads spinning, any advice would be great xx

If hes getting charged it won't be a caution. Sorry please don't get your hopes up for this. He should see the evidence before plea hearing so he can decide how to plead.
he won't have to sign the register until he has pled guilty or been found guilty at trial.

Thankyou for your reply.... never been in this situation before and couldn't find any proper answers, that's helped greatly thankyou. Do you know if he will be given a copy of the evidence or just shown it?
A police caution is something that you can accept instead of being charged. If charges are drawn up the option for a caution is already off the table and the case goes to court.
Also if you refuse a caution then you are charged and go to court.

my person has a copy of the charges but not of the evidence. The solicitor has that.
Thankyou. Never been in trouble with the police so everything is new to me, we don't currently have a solicitor, as we're currently looking for a new one. But thankyou again
