My partner has been sentenced and was given 7 years SOR + SHPO

IN this it states mostly restrictions around internet use ... but it does say "no unsupervised contact with anyone under the age 18 unless supervised by a parent or carer"

does this mean he will not be alloud to return home to reside with our children for the 7 years he's on SOR+SHPO??

I have 2 girls who he's acted as a step farther too and we have a child together who is 4 months old.

Does this clause mean he can't come home ever during this 7 years or is this solely related to other children in general like freinds children etc and not our own

thanks in advance

Hi,

So this will mean he can as long as he's supervised but at no point can he be left alone with any children including your own unfortunately.

And with anyone on the register he will need to register the address with the police if he stays at the address for more than 12 hrs if kids are there when he stay.

This will be until he's off the register.

Also it will also depend on social services view unfortunately too if they get involved. As they may say he can't live at home if they feel supervison 24hrs a day isn't possible.

Hope this helps.

So will that mean no unsupervised contact for 7 years, so he can't come home to live at any point, do you think, or could that be assessed and decided possibly if the risks are assessed to be low at some point

thanks

Hey,

So yes it will mean for the 7 years he's on it he has to be supervised around any under 18.

He could come live at home if it was assessed that you could supervise at all times. There would need to be a saftey plan in place probably.

Social services are different everywhere so would really depend on your social worker.

Sorry wish I could help a bit more.

Probation can also alter the shpo to exclude your own children if you get to a point where he is assessed as safe.

I have seen this done before in my professional role. It will take quite a long time to sort out but it can be done if he can be assessed as lower risk
