I'm trying out Famisafe - seems pretty good so far but it's early days. I think it's about £5 per month

I'd be interested to hear any other recommendations too

I current use the free version apple provide. So websites, apps all have to be authorised. Plus age restrictions in place. He can't change anything or log out of his account.

Hi,

Speaking from experience, do check what happens if they access the Internet through their own data or yours if not going through your own WiFi.

So, for example, our mobile phones are with three, but Internet with BT. So my children can access the Internet via WiFi and through data on three.

This was impossible for us to control, I disconnected my child's internet usage through the WiFi and controlled everything there, but as soon as they turned off WiFi and went through their own mobile data I had no control at all............

Too many loopholes for teens to still access content.

However, if anyone has a solution to this, then I would love to hear it.

I have the Apple parental control set on my sons phone (even though he's an adult). It means he can't download any apps without my authorisation. His offender manager wasn't able to install the monitoring software on to my sons phone when he visited him at home but wasn't worried when he knew he had the parental control set on it.

Mobile providers have a duty of care towards children. In my experience of various different networks, they provide apps. Within those apps are parental settings. You can limit what they can access. I did this with EE, vodaphone and 3. You can turn off access to content and if searched for it will not allow access even on data. With 3 I was less sure of navigating the app and I went into store and did it with them.

It is possible. Also, with social medial accounts, when they are under 18 there are parental links to accounts so you can see what they access and can limit content.

Hi,

My son is over 18 but I don't want him to access content on our Internet? Any ideas how I can stop him accessing the internet?

We have had the same problems since he was under 18.

I can remove his devices from the hub, like I have done before, but Our EE hub offers also a hotspot, so he used to access it by paying, so he could do that again. I can disconnect user from the hub, but they can connect to WiFi through a hotspot on the hub by paying for data by the hour or day.......

Also, he has an Xbox which can connect to the Internet through a browser........ any ideas what I can do, I am literally at my wits end.. he says he is addicted and I quite believe it, but how can I stop him to avoid further damage to his life???

Any help with tech and the Internet.......
