Today I got the papers from OIC to say no longer on bail and just under investigations whilst devices checked.

It says will be notified in post of next action and lists the various things.

We don't know exactly what they are looking for other than images. It's my 16yr old son. He says he doesn't know and we believe him.

My question is it says communication via post but also says could be arrested again. If they found something would we get a knock again or would we be invited in for another interview. I still live in fear when I hear a knock at door and so does my son. Plus when in initial knock they said 'you wouldn't want us picking you up from street'.

Hey,

I don't know the answers but could you give the OIC a call and explain the uncertainty is making you anxious and please could they let you know how they will contact you in the future? You could also let them know you would be happy to bring him to the station if a re-arrest was needed rather than a knock/street arrest?

They might say no but I'm just thinking what helps me with my anxiety is managing the unknown, so if you have an agreement you have more certainty about what will happen?

Thank you for commenting.

I have replied to OIC email so hoping they reply.

I thought getting the bail conditions removed I'd feel better because it seems a positive but then reading the forms it brought the anxiety back. My son would be terrified if they approached him on the street. OIC said on day of knock he looked terrified.

So my understanding of it is that you can only be out on Bail for so long my OH had his devices taken after the knock and because it's taking so long for them to check them he's now out pending further investigations. They have said that they will text him or call him when they Have checked his devices and want him to attend the police station. Either to be re-interviewed or to be formally charged

They don't arrest people in the street, unless they have invited them for an interview first and the person didn't turn up.

That's good to know. He's suffered anxiety ever since being bullied in primary school and his anxiety continued into secondary. At start he didn't want friends because he thought they would get him in trouble.

We have to intercept all post so we read it before my son. I find it wrong solicitor sends letters to my son when he is a child and we can't get this changed unless my son speaks to solicitor and agrees. It's been mention in other chats on here but for me so much more needs to be done to help kids who find themselves accused of this horrible crime. High percentage of kids don't have the maturity to deal with this. And everything takes so long.

Had response from oic and they have agreed all correspondence will be via email. So that takes that worry away, just if anything from solicitor now.
