Bail extension?

Hi, I haven't I'm afraid personally. My ex is due in a few months to be told about bail extension but not sure. Have you tried asking the helpline?
Hi soconfused,
Our investigating officers told us it could only be applied for once. The forms showed the timescales they could apply to extend it by, and they told us that that was it; once it got to the end of the period of time magistrates had agreed to extend to, there had to be an outcome. In our case it worked; my partner was arrested 13th March, bailed for 28 days then extended to three months, then they applied to magistrates to extend by 6 months to 13th December. They told me at that point it had to be dealt with one way or the other by December and it was. My partner received "no further action" in relation to his two arrests at the end of October.
I'd certainly ask for a second opinion, as the police explained to me that the magistrates extension was a one time thing.
All the best and I hope you get some answers soon.
