So hello all, it's the evening before the dreaded day of my person being charged. ( for attempted communication)

I can't sleep, can't settle my minds racing and currently have a grump 5 year old awake with ear ache snuggle her mama bear.

Can anyone help advise what happens next? What happens after tomorrow?

Hope your all as well as can be, I'm sure I'll be back tomorrow morning at some point.

The charge usually comes with a date for them to attend the magistrates court, maybe a month or so later. They have to enter a plea and then it will probably be passed to crown court for sentencing a month after that.

So we have the charge sheet, and their in court on the 27th/2nd but no mention of a plea hearing.... here's hoping we're near the end.

Hi lovely, my heart goes out to you, such a horrendous time (well it's all horrendous, but particularly when you get to this point and the reality of it truly hits). I should imagine 27th will be the plea hearing and 2nd for sentencing. Good luck and my thoughts will be very much with you xxxx

Hi lovely thankyou for your reply, he's been told there hoping to have it all delt with on the 27/2/25, so I don't know what to expect. I'm hoping this really is the start of the end of this part of the nightmare though.

Hiya, we received charges also for my person and ours is just after after yours so know exactly how your feeling. At least we know now and not floating in limbo. We were also told hopefully it won't go to crown. If you need to chat I'm here x

It depends what is the attempted communication. Communication is unlikely to be dealt with on the day at magistrates, it will probably go to crown court

My son was charged with communication

He then went to pre hearing at magistrates court,he was not set a date fir Crown court

He was it could be 4 to weeks later

He at registered at police station after pre hearing

Then two weeks after he did his probation report

Then Crown court was cancelled twice ,the night before on both occasions

Eventually 8 weeks from magistrates he was sentenced at Crown court

2 yrs suspended sentence

Hello,

How will we know if the case will go to Magistrates or the Crown court?

As I understand it first court appearance for any offence is always at magistrate court, they will decide whether they can deal with the case or if it should be passed to crown court.
