What happens once bail conditions have been extended and reached the 12 month mark? What happens to bail conditions etc when it comes to own children and coming back home?

thank you

They dont usually extend bail beyond 12 months, so if they are not in a position to bring charges, they will probably release him under investigation (RUI), which comes with no conditions.

However, if social services are involved, then they may impose conditions of their own.

If social services have closed the case do they reopen at that point?

Please try not to worry my OH was released on bail but after six months they said they couldn't extend it anymore so they changed it to pending Further investigations And is still waiting to be recalled after 13 months since the knoc xx

Social services closed the case after visiting us twice. Would they open it again if bail ends! I'm just wondering once the 12 months is up and they still haven't got forensics back would conditions be gone and he can return home? I've heard on here some people waiting up to three years and I'm worried he won't be allowed home for that long

In theory bail can be extended indefinitely, after 12 months it needs a magistrate to authorise it every three months, though this only happens in really exceptional circumstances and as others have said if it gets to 12 months the usual practice is to release under investigation in which case all bail conditions cease to be enforceable, so as far as I understand it there would be nothing stopping him returning home unless social services put something in place to prevent it.
