How long before the bail meeting did people get letters to extend. Meeting is less than a week away and still not heard. Will be first 3 months.

My OH got an email from the duty solicitor who attended the initial interview about a week before bail was due. It was extended by a further 3 months,

try emailing the solicitor or the OIC x

My OH got an email telling him it had been extended for another three months and at the end of the second three months they then messaged him to tell him that he was no longer out on bail but was out pending further investigations 12 months down the line He still out pending further investigations still haven't proceeded any further

There was one occasion when our person didn't hear until a few days after the due date - can't remember how he heard, possibly from his solicitor. We did wonder how he stood regarding the conditions for those days but didn't put it to the test. It's a joke that the police can be so disorganised and neglectful over something so important to the offender as woe betide anyone who makes a mistake at our end yet we are supposed to just put up and shut up about the police's errors.

PS Sorry your OIC is so hateful, we have no respect for ours too.

We were told on day of arrest and being bailed that we would most likely not have to attend and oic would call few days before and this is exactly what happened. So my son didn't have to go.

Then same with 2nd bail date we got call from oic week before advising it was being changed to rui.

To be fair oic although didn't seem to know what he was doing on day he's been good in keeping us informed most of the time. Just now 6 months in and wish I knew when it would end. The not knowing exactly what my sons accused of is torture.

My person had to attend all bail meetings. When it was almost to the year mark the OIC came to the house to say he was extending so was putting in an application to the magistrates. Which all went through. We're almost at 18 months now and it's magistrates for plea next week x
