My partner is currently not allowed home as advised by social services. Next week I start the inform course and my partner will be starting the inform plus course a few weeks after. I have red somewhere that the start and end of tbe inform plus course they will do some kind of risk assessment? .. I'm not sure if that's true however if it is will social services take that into account? I'm due a baby in a couple of weeks time, I just want to be the one to be able to supervise contact between partner amd children. He is looking for a place of his own so I'm not asking for him to move back home or anything like that. I just want to be able to supervise contact between him and our children.

Hey, the Inform programmes don't include a risk assessment. I'm currently doing the Inform for families and my husband did the inform plus 3 years ago. It's been really helpful though and nice to speak to someone that's non judgmental and listens.

Hi,

the inform course is really helpful but doesn't include a risk assessment. The breaking the cycle course does. Again it's a helpful course but I found it more intense than the inform course xxx

Not a risk assessment but LFF will send confirmation to anyone who needs it that your person has done the Inform plus course and also if any family member or friend has done the Inform one, but that's all it is - just proof that you've done it!

Yeah the breaking the cycle course is through Circles south east.

My partner has done the engage plus course as his offence was communication, it didn't include a risk assessment. Oasys by probation has regular assessments but isn't a course. Horizon has facilitators comments that are given in a pack at the end which show levels of engagement and understanding but again not a risk assessment xxx

Does the breaking the cycle cost do you know?

Ah yeah partner is currently waiting to start the horizon course but there is a waiting list. Social services have saidbhis probation officer will do his risk assessment but his probation worker is saying because he's only had one recently he's to wait another month or so.

Hi,

it was free when I did it but I have read on here recently that people who are trying to self refer are being given quotes for the cost of the course.
You could put it forward as a course that ss might be able to fund if this is the case when you contact circles. I'm not sure if it's people applying from outside the areas they usually cover xxx

Ah OK that makes sense. I'll give them a ring and see what they say! How long ago did you do the course?

Heard nothing and still no birth plan. I'm getting very stressed lol. We was placed on the CPP on the 19th December, they made a big thing about how me and the children will be seem once every 10 days. And I've literally seen a social worker once and that was for her to tell me she's leaving. Noones seen my youngest since before the meeting and she only see my oldest to tell them she was leaving. My partner hasn't seen our daughter since December, she was supposed to be organising for partners sister to supervise contact but never did it so it's been a month and half now with only phone calls.
