Help after release

My relative is just coming to the end of a long prison sentence for online abuse. He has been granted parole and will be going to live with my mum again. She is in a very different position now with many health needs and she no longer drives. I have been my mums only real contact for several years. She never sought any help from this group through all the trauma of the arrest and trial even though I tried to persuade her to get help. I no longer want a relationship with the abuser. Has anyone any advice on navigating family relationships after a prison sentence?

I don't really have any words of advice as my relative has just gone into custody, however I have also chosen no contact. I couldn't read and not write a reply to say you are absolutely valid in that choice, and I hope you manage to make it work however you hope to.

Unfortunately you can't make people seek out help and support if they don't want to all you can do is be your mum and support your mum she needs itxx
