I'm just wondering the differences between released with bail and released pending investigation.
my partner has been released with bail conditions stating he can't have contact with anyone under the age of 18, inc his own children :(
Does the fact someone is released with bail conditions mean that they believe they're more likely guilty and more of a risk as to someone that they release pending investigation?
The OIC called me after the interview the day he was arrested and they hadn't released with bail conditions at that point. She said they are having a multi agency meeting (SS) and they will decide. She then called me after the meeting with SS and said he has been bailed with the above conditions.

You will find different opinions on here about this if you do a search, but from my experience reading on this forum for ages, the bail with conditions is nearly always what is dished out at first. If the offender was considered a real risk to children then they would be remanded and kept in prison. Many are on bail for several extensions until it becomes more complicated for the police to extend again as they have to eventually get a magistrate to agree rather than someone 'in house' and often then the bail is switched to Released Under Investigation. I don't think it has much if anything to do with the offences. Once RUI you might find that although legally there are no longer any conditions, that's when SS can swoop in and impose their own, often the same as bail. SS go on 'risk' whereas the police go on 'proof' which are 2 different things. SS restrictions aren't legally enforceable so you can ignore them but at your peril as then you run the risk of SS escalating to something like Child Protection proceedings. In our case we just kept to the bail conditions after it changed to RUI for the sake of peace and actually it did help to know we were choosing to do it rather than being compliant and afraid of getting it wrong and bringing down the wrath of the OIC!!!!
That helps thank you.
I've been reading posts on here but everyone's experiences are so different and it's all really confusing me.
I just want him to be telling the truth and the police confirm it and he is cleared of this. It's not even been a week and it feels like hell

So we got the call this morning - bail extended for the 2nd time - so will be a total of 9 months (bailed at point of arrest in August, rebailed in November and now till May)
OIC confirmed a few weeks back that he had the downloads and needed to compile his report. I'm assuming he hasn't completed this yet as we would have expected a 2nd interview.
Its frustrating and we don't have the added complication of having children at home, but we do have grandkids that he can't have contact with.
RUI just gives the police an excuse to shove the case to the bottom of the pile - at least with bail they do have a time limit, even if they do keep extending it.
