My partner has a second interview

Hello! As the above says my partner has a second interview. From what we understand, they found images on his phone or his computer we don't know which and he has a second interview with the police. The thing is, he's never searched for said images of kids, and it was all through a poor judgement of entering a group chat off of a website that was simply labelled for media sharing; nothing gave hints to what would be shared.
My question is, what can we expect from a second interview? We can't afford a solicitor so he has to use the duty solicitor instead. What happens after the interview? Will he be given anything after the interview like the outcome? We've never been in this kind of situation before so we honestly do not know what to expect.

Hi there! I have never been sure about all the possible reasons for a second interview as I think I remember comments on here linking it with being charged.
However, in our case it was because evidence of a new type of offence had been discovered (not child related) so our son was questioned about that. He has been for a third interview too but it was pretty pointless as it related to that new offence again rather than anything new. It did cause me huge stress though as I assumed it was yet another discovery of type of offending and therefore our son had been lying to us when he promised we knew it all. No idea why he was summoned again, unless it was to look as if the police were dong something as we know that social services were on their case about the length of time everything was taking.

My partner has now had his second interview, they said they found a lot of images, like a large amount; that he was completely unaware were every downloaded in the first place. They said it was found across three devices.
I fully believe he did not download anything. The police are being vague and said some were found in a cache file and some weren't; but he never actively downloaded anything. Telegram, WhatsApp and the like however does automatically download images; and we believe that's how it's happened.
We're now waiting for a decision from CPS; because he's still classed as low risk even with all these images found, and no previous convictions, has no prior records against him, he doesn't even go on the website where he got the group chat link from the first place anymore he stopped immediately the day the police came.
We just don't know what to do, he's depressed and thinking of the absolute worse. I'm trying to stay the strong one for us both, but I am limited to how much I can keep doing that. We just hope CPS do us a favour and let him go on this occasion.
