Just wondered would any mitigating factors or rehabilitation taken before a charging decision or on the 2nd interview help at all? If a first time offence? Or do the police genuinely only care about getting a charge?

Anyone had experience of nfas or any sort of leniency. Thank you x

My understanding from the solicitor in 'my' case is that there is some scope for the solicitor to make a case at that point for an NFA or a caution. I think it would have to be a very 'marginal' situation - ie in 'my' case he claims to have been sent one file which he instantly deleted, which (assuming he isn't lying) the solicitor seemed to feel could possibly end in an NFA or more likely a caution. It could also go to court however! I don't think there's much consistency! The solicitor did say that in his experience cautions are becoming more common, though it depends on the force
