AI only experience?

Wondering if anyone else in here experienced "the knock" purely based on AI and not real children? My husband used photos of 12 and older and put them through an AI generator. Obviously still a man that needs help but wondering if anyone else has gone through this and what the legal side looked like? He did not distribute it was only in his own twisted world. No communication no dark web etc. just trying to figure out what we should expect on the legal side?
No experience of this myself but I guess from a legal point of view it will come down to how realistic the images are as to whether they are dealt with as indecent images or prohibited images. Photo realistic images are still considered indecent images of children even if they are AI generated and the act portrayed in the image never actually happened.
My ex downloaded "pseudo " images, so images that are computer generated, not of a real child. They are treated as though they are real in the eyes of the law. Your person created images from real children initially which will add another layer to it all. I'm sorry. I'm not judging. My ex has re offended. Originally he got real child abuse images and downloaded those. The latest nightmare he's downloaded the pseudo images in a bid to not harm children. It won't make any difference to sentencing due next week.
Thats what i was afraid of :(
just want this nightmare to end. The waiting is cruel.

The waiting has caused me to become significantly sick and disabled. Its truly awful.

My person's is AI only. I saw a handful of the images originally and couldn't tell they were AI they looked so realistic, neither did the original police who showed up.
I (think) he used an AI image generator rather than starting with a real childs photo so not sure how that will impact charges.
So far I've been told they will be treated as real images, but it's gone to cps for charges any day now so I shall update what they actually decide to charge. As it seems new territory and becoming much more common using AI.
