Hi, I've been a long time lurker and thought I would take a step forward and ask a question if that's ok?
My OH was sent to prison end of last year, put on SOR indefinitely and SHPO same.
Our tenancy ended on our property and I didn't want to renew it, so long story short, I've moved into a 1 bed flat. This will be a very temporary thing, because there are several tenants on drugs within the building and the smell knocks me sick and gives me headaches.
Anyway, I'll get to the point.......how does it work when OH is released (not till next year)? If I apply for a new property in 6 months say, then do I have to tell landlord/letting agents about his convictions if I am just adding him to the tenancy? Or I just say OH is moving in, but I don't want him on tenancy, would I still have to mention his convictions?

I would go to the unlock website or give them a ring. They are really helpful and might be able to advise you. Or the citizens advice bureau may know the legalities of your situation. It is best to find out officially before you sign anything. Xx
