Hmmm so my son has now received charges from CPS today and I'm a little confused as he has no bail restrictions whatsoever, I thought/assumed when he received charges he would also have restrictions? Magistrates is next month which again is very quick.

Hi, following our visit from the police in 2022 and subsequent questioning, magistrates, crown court and signing the register no bail conditions have ever been imposed on my son. I was surprised, however now waiting for sentencing in just under 2 weeks and really hoping this time it's not postponed! We need this journey o draw to an end and only following sentencing can we begin to start over.

All the best x

Hi,

bail restrictions are usually applied at the start of the investigation process following arrest. It sounds like your son was released under investigation rather than on bail. If he pleads guilty at magistrates he will have to sign the SOR I believe within 3 days. Then he will be subject to the notification requirements of the SOR. When sentenced he may receive a SHPO with restrictions on but these should be proportionate to the offence so for online offending there should be online restrictions only xxx

Phew, thank you ladies, I have read the charges sheet over and over and over double checking but nothing. I just wish it was worded more clearly or actually explained. One step closer to this whole mess being over and done with x x
