Hello all you poor suffering darling people. Does anyone know if there are any actual group meetings that exist?

I know this is an excellent way to share our distress and horror but I feel I would benefit from actually having an opportunity to share my feelings in person.

There's only so much you can say from a keyboard. You can type, then delete, then type.... etc.

I must say, one of the things that astonishes me, after being directed to this forum, thinking my situation was so unique.... HOW MANY of us are there. Sometimes I don't check in for a week or more. And each time, when I return, how disheartening to see that so many unfortunates have joined this unhappy club.

Yeah, so if you know of any in person support groups for this ugly situation, please let me know.

This is something I'd like to know too. As understanding as family and friends can be it would be interesting to meet up with others who have lived experience x

Talking forward hold online group sessions a couple of evenings a month through Microsoft teams and also a face to face session in Leeds.

I actually asked my persons offender manager if there were any groups in my local area but unfortunately there aren't any.

I don't know of any in person groups, but there is the Inform course that LFF run. I'm on the list, waiting to get onto it. It's on Teams, and you actually see people on the screen, so you can put names to faces and make connections with people going through the same situation. Its a 5 week course, each session lasting 2 and a half hours, and it's aim is to give you a deeper understanding of why our person did what they've done, the judicial system etc. Plus to talk about what we're going through. If it sounds like something you'd be interested in, call the hotline and they can put your name down. I registered and after a couple of weeks I had an online meeting with a psychologist to go through my situation and talk about the course. I literally can't wait for it to start

Talking forward do a regular online and in person groups. I'm aware of one in person group in Leeds but it is not well attended at present (maybe not many know, not local, or prefer online). Not sure if they Ave other groups a cross the country.

I much prefer in person group but unfortunately it does need more attendees to maintain regular sessions.
