I would say if you really love your fiance you will work this out. I am no expert on ss but as far as I am aware they would probably want no unsupervised contact with his father and that would be the same for any of his siblings that have children too.

I think his dad and family are probably doing their best to move forward with life, and this will be why they don't want to keep bringing up the past. If he is on the sor he will have to notify the police if any of his children have children, this will activate the ss, however from what I have heard as long as you state no unsupervised they will probably close the case after assessment. I'm sure there are loads of people on here that can give good advice, or you could call the hotline.

Hope you work out what's best for you and your fiance. Xxx

Hi unsure....

Please don't read my post as argumentative or opinionated but you state your future father in law was arrested a few years ago....

His is sentence now spent? I ask this because surely he should be given the benefit of rehabilitation? If there is no redemption by family then what hope is there for these men. I have read from police sources that up to 500 are arrested each month in the UK alone. Some have been drawn into more dangerous images by porn addiction... others by simply clicking on a wrong link... some by the thrill of illicit chat...

I suppose what I'm trying to say is yes protect any children you may have in the future but remember forgiveness... These men and some women are not all predators and sexual deviants... If that was the case the statistics of 500 each month would result in horror stories in the press daily.

I wish you well for the future... You are at least aware of the potential issues of having a convicted sex offender in the family and I'm sure you will put in appropriate safe guards regarding grand dad.. Just try and show a little empathy as to how he must now feel and the life he now has to lead until death.

Best wishes....

Best wishes for 2020.... And thank you for the comments... I truly hope one day our voices can be heard and used to reform the current culture by the press and social media who destroy families with their inaccurate and ignorent stories.

Take care....
