I know I have comfort ate a lot, yesterday I was at the craft fair in Glasgow and felt my bones ache a lot and I know it's my weight so I have stood on the scales 221lbs!!!!!! I have oh concerned I don't like him due to what's happened but I am a menopausal women, obese and hate myself and yet I am still trying to reassure him, he said to me put something nice on to go to Glasgow it will make you feel better, reality is I hated myself all day as the trousers were so tight I couldn't breathe, came home and straight into my pyjamas.
The point of my post is I need different support I am looking for someone who I can message my weight to every week who will hold me accountable I know it's a lot to ask, but if there is anyone out there who can support me in anything it's you folks.
Thanks for reading so emotional puting my weight down there, have been considering the weight loss infections

Hi, I have comfort eaten since the age of 8. In the last 5 years I've put on 5 stones as a direct result of all the stress. I weigh a little under what you do but I'm only 5' tall. I've got various auto immune conditions as well as insulin dependent type 2 diabetes. I rarely leave home. I'd be more than happy to help if I can. X
Littlerobin3 thank you so much its very much appreciated
I'm.trying hard not to eat my feelings, especially as I lost half a stone at the start. The Trauma Diet works wonders! I've downloaded the NHS weight loss app, which is basically calorie counting, so I'm learning about which foods I'm better off eating. Plus it gives me an element of control which helps, as everything is so out of my control right now
Thanks so much poppet I will look at the app just now x
Before the knock i lost 6 stone, after the knock i put on 3. Still trying three years later to get it back off. But i do go to slimming world, so i dont mind helping in any capacity. I weigh on a thursday if you want to do that and message me. And if you need any advice on slimming i more than happy to help. Recently lost half a stone, so going in the right direction.
I am an emotional eater so i find it very hard. Especially as everyone else in the house are not slimming. I coukd do a post every thursday if you like and we can all say if we have put on or lost that week. Then we can discuss snacks and what to eat when we are feeling low. If this is something people would like or just message me. Xx

A group post is a great idea webb89
Webb, a weekly weight check in sounds like a great idea. I could do with losing a stone so will happily join you after my holiday.
Weekly check in thursday evening then. I can post about 7pm but obviously people can weigh whenever they like.
we can discuss alternative foods and/or portion control. Just make little changes at first otherwise it will be too much too soon. X

I put on 14lb since going on Mirtazapine in October, which as I'm only 5ft is really noticeable; my clothes don't feel good and some of them I can't even do up, but worse is the joint pain and effort on exercising. I was a super fit (seriously) ultramarathon runner and now I can waddle my way around a 10k.
it's really damaging my self esteem and making me feel like it's yet another thing he's taken from me.

Dear Forum users,
It is incredibly positive to see how the forum can be such a valuable source of warmth, openness and support for its users. We’ve noticed the conversations around weight loss and accountability; setting personal goals can be extremely beneficial, so if you would find it helpful to have a weekly check in to keep yourself and each other accountable then we would encourage you to do so!
We wanted to contribute to this thread to offer gentle encouragement to all our users who wish to participate, and to emphasise a compassionate and balanced approach to health. We hope contribution is welcomed and enhances, rather than hinders, engagement in this thread.
We understand that in times of uncertainty, managing our weight, meal portions, or calorie intake can provide a sense of control and stability. Having structure can be reassuring, and it makes complete sense to want to focus on something tangible. However, we want to ensure that this is done in a way that is healthy and helpful, rather than becoming an additional source of stress or pressure for other users.
We also want to acknowledge that emotional eating is a completely normal response to stress and trauma. Food can bring comfort, and many people find that their eating habits change—whether that means eating more, eating less, or craving certain foods—when dealing with emotional distress. Weight gain, just like weight loss, is a common response to stress. We therefore encourage a gentle approach to wellbeing—one that prioritises self-care in a way that nourishes both body and mind. This could mean mindful movement like walking or yoga, making food choices that make you feel good, finding small moments of calm in your day, or simply showing yourself compassion. Every step taken toward self-care, no matter how small, is meaningful.
You can find self-care advice on our Stop It Now website, or by clicking here.
We also want to gently remind everyone that no two journeys are the same. Bodies respond differently to stress, change, and healing, and it’s important not to compare yourself to other people’s progress. Above all, please be kind to yourselves. You are doing the best you can in an incredibly difficult situation.
Kind regards,
The Forum Team

Thank you LFF i agree with what you have said. This is a positive thing and not something to compare each other. The goal here is to gain control and perhaps with the words from LFF not to put in the thread if you have lost or gained, (as we ourselves will know) but focus on what went well and what did not go well. Not to punish the not went well but to see if there is any alternatives to explore. I have been on SW for years and even when i put weight back on i still go. Why? Because even though weight is going on i am still eating more healthily. Please let me know on the thread or in a PM if there is anything you find upsetting in the posts. This is not a stick to make people feel bad. I have found staying to group in Slimming world that different people have good ideas about food. Lets see how this goes.
Lisamargemaggie Yes mirtazapine increases your appetite as do a lot of medications.
