We go tomorrow!

So after the initial visit in almost 3 years ago we are almost there!
We have today received a call to be in attendance at 9.30am tomorrow.
I am not sure how I got through work today, but the distraction can not be underestimated.
We are hoping they go with the recommendation detailed in the probation report.

Thinking of you both for tomorrow xxx
Thinking of you both tomorrow and sending strength and good wishes for the best possible outcome.
That is really kind of you both.
I've ironed the shirt and suit. The "bag" however isn't packed!
I really do think it's going to be a last minute thing my son puts together.
Like so many you hope it's not needed but I've told him it's that or no clean pants!
xx

'No clean pants', that did make me chuckle. We called it the 'just in case' bag and made sure he had plenty of clean pants and socks.
Thinking of you tomorrow. Let us know how you get on.
Sending all my love, thoughts will very much be with you xx
Thinking of you tomorrow, hoping for the best possible outcome with no bag of clean pants needed x
Wishing you all the best and that you get a favourable out come.
My grandson was sentenced today they did go with the probation report and he got community service, such a relief. Also thankfully although he's now 20 it was held in the Juvenile court as he was 17 at the time so no reporters thank God.
Good luck I hope you too can breath a sigh of relief afterwards.

i don't think what anyone can ever prepare you for or expect to is the obscenely frantic changes in emotions.
The highs of being almost at the finish line, tarnished with the does that mean shortly everyone outside of the close circle will know.
The anguish and knots deep in your stomach trying to think and manage absolutely every possible scenario. Even the parking at the court!
To be in control just a tiny bit of a situation that sits with anyone but you. The decision around what to wear, which chair to sit on in court, whether to make eye contact with the judge or the floor! Unbelievable!

Will be thinking of you today. I feel your anguish. It will be us later this week. Sending a hug x
Thinking of you too - hope you will get the best possible outcome. You are not alone <3
Sat watching and waiting to be called!
I dropped my son off and turned around to park the car.
Received a call to check he was in attendance, oh and that the barrister had changed!
As expected the worst element is sat listening to the prosecution reading graffic content of the images! When the judge tells your person the images are disgusting and continues to let all, including the press know his thoughts, it's not going well.
However despite the charges we have left with the best outcome possible. 2 year community order, SHPO and the register for 5 years alongside this.

@lost I am sooo glad all went well and you can finally find some peace in all this. I must be exhausted, get some good rest and you will see slowly everything will be better.
So glad it went well. Such a relief for all of you. X
So glad all went as well as it could xx
It might take a few days and even weeks to sink in but you're now on the other side and the next chapter of your journey can begin. I'm so pleased you received a reasonable outcome and that your son can now start rebuilding his life.
I'm so pleased you got the best outcome you could. Once it's sunk in you can take a deep breath and work on the future together. Put those spare pants back in the drawer! Xx
I have read your posts with interest and upset too.
I am here because of my son, he was 21 at the time of the offence, but we are only 2 months after the knock.
I feel relief for you at your sons sentence, but also the shock of how this is the best outcome.
There are so many problems in the online world and there needs to be more support, teaching and restrictions for teenagers and young adults on viewing content and making contact with others.
I am so sorry you have gone through this long journey, but I hope you and your son can start putting it behind you.

Lost - sorry it was such an unpleasant experience for you..I can't even imagine it (yet... Can't allow myself there yet) but I'm really pleased it was a decent outcome for you both. I hope you can start to move forward (once you've had chance to process it all)
Granny - sounds like your grandson got a decent outcome too. It's lovely to hear the little snippets of positivity amongst all of this.

Thank you all x
Yes, sadly a community order was what we were hanging on for. The agrivatiting factors were the age of those in the Category A images.
when the newly appointed barrister (yes, as of the day?!) arrived at the court they too were hopeful of a suspended sentence! My sons face said enough as this leaves you back closer to a custodial sentence and leaving by the backdoor.
i can not stress how important the character references are, irrespective of how small and irrelevant you may think something is, it's for someone else, the judge to review.
This is 110% what drew the community order
xx

My persons solicitor/barrister hasn't mentioned character references. I'm really unsure what to do about it
@granny1
I was surprised to hear he was in juvenile court despite being over 18. I had heard that it would go to adult court if over 18 at the time, even if 15 at time of offence. Do you know why this was? I'm glad for you and your grandson that it was though xx

There's nothing to stop you writing a reference and sending it to the Judge via your solicitor. X

I would be so happy with that result x

We're all done in court now. Pre sentence report from probation was very good and the judge went along with it x
