Has anyone had to apply for a DBS recently for themselves after their person's conviction? We've divorced since and sentencing was over 2 years ago. I need a DBS for a trustee role, which hasn't come back yet. Applied for 6 weeks ago. I knew it would take longer than usual. The charity CEO knows about the conviction so I'm not worried about that, just how long it may take.

Has anyone applied recently, and how long did it take to come back?

I had a DBS for a new role, it took around 4 weeks for it to come back. This was in January. We're post sentencing and my partner doesn't live with me. Nothing came back on it xxx

Hi, yes I've had a new DBS recently, just last month actually. I'm divorced from my person and he hasn't lived here since sentencing (2 years). I am back to my maiden name.

DBS was clear, all good

Thank you both. I might need to be a bit more patient.

I subscribe to the DBS update service which means mine gets updated every year and employers and charity organisations can check my DBS on line. My son lives with me and was sentenced 18 months ago and nothing has ever shown up on my DBS despite me having an enhanced DBS.

I applied for a DBS about seven years ago not long after I got with my OH and it had all his convictions on it and I lost my job despite the fact I had done nothing wrong I have however had DBS is done since and nothing has come back on them so I think it depends on which sort of DBS they do whether it's a basic one or more in-depth one

my DBS was last applied for last year, but I always get very worried and nervous when I have to renew it in case something comes back on it after the one I had a few years ago

however I have been told that they are no longer allowed to put partners information onto your DBS and it is solely for the individual that it's been applied for
