Likely to have bail extended to 12 months in a weeks time. Just wondered is there any possibility of the bail restrictions being removed or mended for a dad to see his kids more after spending 9months with limited access to them. (he doesn't live with his kids BTW). Or would they just say no and have to see after 12 months? Thanks

The person on bail should be asked if they want changes to bail conditions to be considered as part of the extension application, so they and their solicitor can make arguments to have conditions amended or removed. From what I read on here most are conditionally bailed for the first 12 months and then released under investigation, in theory bail can be extended every three months indefinitely but bail guidelines state that this shouldn't happen beyond 12 months without very good reason.

Once RUI all conditions from the police will be lifted, but any restrictions from SS would still remain in place.

So, I know that every situation is different, so I can only down for what happened for us. My person was only allowed supervised contact with our daughter until she was 11 months old. At that time, when the case was heard at crown for the first time, our solicitor said something key...

"Image only offenses aren't contact offenses so there shouldn't be any restrictions on contact". With his help, and through working with sickish services, he was then allowed unsupervised contact with our daughter.

Working with social services and paying for a big solicitor allowed us to get to this point. Yes, there is a lot of debt from it attached but it is 100% worth it. The key is getting a good solicitor who can advocate for you.
