being seen in public

Hi all,
Hope you're all okay. I'm having to go to a family meal where the person will be and it's the first time I will be in public with this person as I have cut off as much contact as possible. My family is quite small, as is the town I live in so I suppose i'm just worried that someone will see and say something? I don't want to be associated with it.
It was released to the public in October last year so it's been a while so I'm probably just worrying about nothing but can anyone give any reassurance?

Are you worried for yourself or the person? As a mum who's child has a big birthday coming up she has chosen not to have a family meal as one of our family members has yet to speak to oh since media coverage, this makes me sad but she doesn't want to put anyone in a situation especially her dad. If your really concerned are you better not going, that way your not feeling vulnerable in any way, we have had meals out and nothing has ever been said and we are pretty well known in the village due to my job
