Someone in family has been arrested and released pending investigation.
they were talking to a decoy and have no contact with an actual child.
no indecent images of any underage children
no arranged meet up
he has sent indecent images and videos of himself to the decoy, and has been speaking to them through an online app (which I presume is charged as grooming?)
does anyone have any idea of the charges he could get and the sentencing ? What are the possible outcomes for him? I just want to try and help explain to the family

If your look on the LF site it does have a list of possible charges and outcomes but please bear in mind it can be different with different authority's, the judge of the day, the remorse shown, the help he's got and any courses done.
A lot of the sentencing is due to the person's realisation that things need to change.
Also, with the time scales that are horrendous I wouldn't even worry about that yet, just get the family member to get some help
