Hi Paris, I guess it depends on the therapists location and if they can help with this specific issue. My husband is talking to someone recommended to him through the Stop it Now website who covers this particular problem. He's miles away so their meetings are online, but it was more important to us both that he talks to someone who knows about these types of sexual offences. All i can really suggest is do some research into local therapists and what they cover. Good luck x

StopSo are amazing. Depending on the councellor they may offer face to face. The one I use gave me an option x when i filled the form in on their website i did ask for face to face (althogh due to time constaints i do actually do online). My OH does online as they are the other side of the country, but thay was his preference! I do hope he finds someone he is happy to speak with x

That's great,Thankyou both for your advice, also could I ask how long your persons took to get the help,my person has said they will get help but as of yet I don't think they have looked into it, it's only 3 weeks since the knock.

Hi, I'm so sorry you are with us. The early days are just awful x

Feel free to message if you would like.

My OH started therapy almost immediately and was the best thing he did in those early days.

Stopso are amazing. But obviously they cost xx

My OH saw a counsellor through StopSo for a number of months, he was great and really got to the root cause of his online offence. BUT... SS and probation dismissed the report as they didnt consider the counsellor independant as my OH was paying him for hourly sessions. Absolute joke!

Paris, my husband registered with Stop it Now just a few days after he was arrested. He started working through their online modules first, while he was waiting for them to get in touch with further details.

My son found his therapist via LFF

He was local to us but it was during COVID so the sessions were via Teams, he paid privately but was absolutely the best thing he did xx

My son went to a private psychotherapist from our local area and was worth every penny spent. My son spent over 2 years in therapy with the therapist and knows he can return if ever he feels the need to.
