My LA would not fund an assessment with LF as they said its too expensive. Has anybody been in this situation and what happened next? I am doubting whether SS are telling the truth. Why wouldnt they fund the assessment if it will help assess risk? My OH thinks that senior management in SS have looked at his offence and decided the cost isnt worth what he did. I am starting to agree with him. He was charged with Obscene Publications and no images were involved, he was talking to an adult (police decoy). No SOR or SHPO placed on him and he is on probabtion until September.

Thanks x

Hi,

my LA wouldn't fund any kind of independent risk assessment. They basically said unless I became dependent on drugs or alcohol or died that they wouldn't fund it. I've been able to supervise for almost 3 years and we are signed off to do a phased return and unsupervised when I choose xxx

After getting a solicitor involved and having a stage 2 complaint open. SS have now said that they need to get a specialist assessment done to reduce potential risk. I don't even know what that means. Who does specialist assessments apart from Lucy Faithfull?
