Can someone who's gotten there husband home please advise me on to what satisfies social services!?

They're happy with me , but whenever my husband asks how he can prove himself they just shut him down saying it's all about statistics and probability of him harming a child! :( he just wants to work with the social bit today he kept questioning them I don't think he has gone about it the best way. And I don't like how they just shut it down, surely people should be able to prove themselves....

they just kept bringing up therapy and stuff which he isn't comfortable doing but feel like it will be held against him if he doesn't get councilling and things like that.

can anyone advice where is best for help and therapy? Not over expensive?

also when my husband is risk assessed what is asked at the assessment? I can't seem to find much about it on here and would be a massive help to be able to find out more about the assessment process for the offending person.

he has crown court next week and has paid over £5000 for a barrister, will this help him? He's been told he has to go guilty as will cost 10s of thousands to even have a chance to prove anything, he swears he's not done it but he's having to go guilty and the social said if he says guilty then to them he has done it :,( he's going guilty due to financial restrictions this is so cruel, how can we get to the end of this, it's killing us all.

Thankyou! :(

He should engage with therapy and to be honest if he's not, then social services do have a leg to stand on. If you're not willing to look into the behaviours and traits which caused the offending then your not able to prove you're fully remorseful and prove that you understand the behaviour and yourself enough to prevent it from happening in the future.

Paying a certain amount for a solicitor won't help with social services, if he's pleading guilty the outcome will probably be at the least the sex offenders register. But even if he did plead not guilty and won social services wouldn't be guaranteed to back off, once they have suspicions they are able to intervene even if found not guilty. I don't want to be the bearer of bad news but once a person I arrested for this offence it's a long process all round for you aswell.

Social Services operate with a one-size-fits-all approach to all families in this matter.

Your partner committed a crime as such, therefore there is a potential to attraction to children, and children abused are children known to the abusers, child abuse rely on opportunity and availability, therefore can not allow this person to be home with minors who could be abused, the end.

It is a long and hard journey to bring your partner back home, if only it can be proven he is indeed low risk to own children (will never be no risk).

I am questioning how he could fork out £5k for a legal defense but not for therapy. If he wants to be a part of his family, and a little bit of luck, that's the best start. Addressing underlying causes to the offending behaviour is a must even if social services did not ask for it, you must.

Specialist risk assessments is handled in opposite manner of one-size-fits-all. It's a very long life interview of the offender, and looking into their way of thinking, and offending, and coping, and personal experiences. All one can do is be honest and engage with the assessor. These are instructed by social services, and the assessor is given a set of questions to explore. No two assesments are the same just as no two people are.

Best of luck with sentencing and moving forward.

I believe that LFF do specialist risk assessments, so ring the helpline and ask.

Alternatively, contact StopSo, they should be able to help too.
