Hello,

I know many of you, like me, were sad to hear Friday Check in was coming to an end.

I would like to propose we keep it going as a group. Basically anyone can start the Friday check in post each week. We were so lucky to have upset do it for so long. I hope she will still pop in to tell us about HC.

My week has been busy. Two of my three kids had birthdays last week. On top of that, we had a bit of family drama. My husband's family decided they did not want to celebrate with my side of the family, so we ended up having two separate events. Luckily I was able to keep the reason from the kids and hopefully next year everyone will get over themselves.

How was your week?

Hi Prairie,

Thank you for keeping this going! My week has been ok. I had my first video call with my partner who is in prison and it was nice to see his face. We're now getting into a bit of a routine...not something I ever saw myself doing but here we are. It has taken 2 months to get to grips with prison systems and processes but I think we're getting there. I have also started new tablets which help me sleep like a log and that has made me feel much calmer. I am looking to book myself a little holiday for Easter as my son is away with his dad and I am off work.

I hope everyone's had an ok week! And if not, big hugs xx

Hi Prairie, yes please to keeping this going. When some of us have had ok or even good weeks, or are planning someone nice for the weekend, it gives hope to those who are struggling.

Loveactually glad you've been able to talk to your person.

My week has been most good but today I'm full of anger again, with a dose of resentment thrown in for good measure. I've accepted that each day will bring different emotions so I'm just going with it. I'll be working all weekend again, working towards a big deadline I have next weekend. Can't wait for it to be over so I can get back to a normal working day - whatever normal is these days!

I hope all of you get some more sunshine. Its really helped with my mood. I love nothing more right now than sitting under the olive tree in the garden with a cuppa and inspecting the bulbs and plants coming up. Sometimes the simple pleasures are the best.

Love to you all x

I'm posting from sunny Egypt, my first holiday in nearly 6 years and I'm feeling refreshed and ready to face life again on my return home.

Hi Friday check in

and thanks Prairie - it's lovely that the check in will continue

My week has been so busy I've barely had time to think about the situation my OH put us in.

My elderly mum had a fall last weekend and, although she didn't hurt herself physically, it's really knocked her confidence. She was just about managing up till last weekend - now she has carers in for the time being till she gets back on her feet - hospital fitted her with a catheter which wasn't necessary but refuses to remove it till she sees someone in Urology - she has been referred but that could be weeks before she sees anyone! To say I'm furious would be an understatement!!

Wishing everyone a sunny and peaceful weekend xxx

Hello friday check in

I got onto the forum as I was going to set up a new post. I thought it would be ok without this but realise i look forward to it each week. So a great idea that anyone can post.

My week has been a mixed bag, and having some struggles with my OH. But no work this weekend, so not even sure what to do with myself. Meeting up with a friend on Sunday for a walk, but thats about it. Probably take my furbabies out. The problem is I just feel so tired all the time. I am envious of people who go out but am too tired to do anything about it. But the sun is out and i need to put a smile on my face and enjoy the weekend.

My week has been a lot better.

We finally got my banding upped for housing which means hopefully should be sooner rather than later now.

Which is really needed as fed up of feeling fear when I walk out my flat with my 2 year old. And wasting money having to go to the city instead of town.

Social services are still planning on discharging the care order in a couple of months but we are still trying to get details off them what that will look like.

Currently my partner is allowed unsupervised access as long as he doesn't do personal care however we are questioning this as he's allowed to be present during personal care and our 2 year old often runs around naked. Also he's no risk to her till she's 11 up. So a little confusion as they are saying never.

But other than that a fairly good week.

My partner has been ill and lost out on 4 days at work.

Looking forward to soon having social out of my life.

I am glad this will continue too, it's lovely to check in with everyone. Thank you.

I have felt a bit more anxious again this week, feels like there are lots of different things to worry about at the moment and the not knowing when or what will happen is so hard.

Love to all xx

So glad to see the Friday check in is still with us. I don't often post but I love reading all the messages.

I've had a fairly typical week with the added excitement of "have my premium bonds come up this month". A small win this month which would just about cover the weekly shop! Better than nothing. Maybe next month.

Lovely to see the sunshine but it's a little breezy here today.

Take care everyone x

Me and my daughter had a lovely visit with HC this morning, when I spoke to him Thursday he said mum this visit I need to just stuff myself with food (this week the offerings haven't been great) I replied well you normally manage to consume plenty on a normal visit :-)

Today he managed (bless him)

4 x crumpets

4 x slices of toast

3 x cheese sandwiches (yep 3)

2 x Malteasrs chocolate bunny

Pot of pringles

1 x cheese and ham sandwich

Tub of chocolate icecream

Magnum lolly

Slice of rainbow sprinkles cake

All washed down with 2 bottles of Oasis

They did have some small plastic tubs of red grapes I said do you want some of them ( be good to have fresh fruit) his response

Nah (haha)

Love sent as always xx

Ha ha healthy food that's a nah...... my son said they long for fast food shown on the tv adverts! Tells me how bad tne food is in prison - says it's much better when tne kitchen is run by tbe inmates and not 'bought in'.

I think a weekly check in is an important balance to the forum, and shows how WE matter too!
