My husband is in court tomorrow for making a substantial amount of A,B,C images. His hearing has been moved from the morning until 2pm int he afternoon. He orignibally pleaded not guilty and is now going guilty through advice from his solicitor. What are the odds this will all be dealt with tomorrow in his first hearing at crown court? His barrister is over £5000 a shot and we can't afford for this to drag out much longer.

is there any hope for us this can be dealt with tomorrow as 3 hours seems a short time in which to cover the evidence even if he pleads guilty? Do they have to go in depth of all the evidence if not a trial?

Thanks !!

When my partner pleaded guilty they set another date for sentencing. He'll have to complete a pre sentence report and things.

It's unlikely to be over tomorow if he hasn't had a pre sentence report yet. Bare in mine they could remand him tomorow be prepared and good luck x

Hi,

I think as it's been mentioned it is unlikely, however not impossible. In my sons case and possibly the ladies referencing before, a changed plea to guilty was logged, we even had to have a hearing for that! A date for sentencing was set and completion of a pre sentencing report date agreed with probation. Initial sentencing date for my son was not listed the evening before, so no hearing This can happen for a number of reasons. So we were then given a new date, almost three months later!

Good luck xx

Thankyou all

it was as expected they have requested pre sentence report and now an almost 7 week wait for sentencing ....I'm so afraid he'll get taken into prison,he pays for our home without him we will lose it all.....just hope he can say the right thing to prove this can be dealt with within the community :( also he has to do a notification requirement at police station which I assume is offenders register :/ great.

the barrister said sentences are only at 50% currently without including mitigating factors is this correct? I could handle a year....but longer I honestly don't know if savings will cover us for that long :,( this isn't our fault this isn't fair

Sentencing is complicated and it depends on many factors such as the grade A, B and/or C, the ages of the children being abused and their level of obvious distress. Then there's everything that goes into the pre sentencing report such as whether any remorse has been shown, pleading guilty straight away, being in a position of authority, working with the vulnerable. Unfortunately a lot simply depends on the Judge in the day. They are all different in how they deal with this. It's unlikely your person will be dealt with at the plea. That's usually a very quick hearing to plea and that's that. I hope you get the outcome you want. X
