Hi all

i am about 5 months post knock, I am in the US so I am not sure if things are done differently here. My OH was arrested for IIOC AI generated. We have not been contacted at all by CPS or SS and our lawyer told us we wont be at this point. I am curious though if thats accurate. We are still going through court and have the next date aet for 4/16 which is just a conference between the judge, DA and his lawyer, hoping they make a deal so we can end this awful experience. After sentencing is it possible CPS will get involved at that point? I am filing for a separation with sole custody. He will likely be placed on the SOR and 10 years of probation. My biggest fear is having CPS show up at some point and I pray that doesnt happen for my childrens sake. I allow my OH to come see the kids a few times a week at my house or at a location we agree upon. Anyone gone through this and not had CPS involved? Or anyone from the US on here that can shed some light? My mind has been off the deep end again thinking of all the terrible outcomes.

As your in the US it would probably be benificial to clarify some of the abreviations used. When your refering to CPS do you mean Child Protective Services?

Most posters here are in the UK to us CPS is the Crown Prosecution Service they are the UK equivalent of the District Attorney, the ones who file charges and prosecute the case in court.

Good to know! Yes CPS in the US is child protective services and the DA is the district attorney who prosecutes the case. That makes alot more sense now. Is SS the equivilant to child protective services in the UK?

SS is social services, they have a variety of roles but among them is dealing with child and vulnerable adult protection.

I don't know how things in the US work but I'm surprised that children's services haven't become involved after the arrest. There are a few people on here from the US who might be able to give a better idea of what to expect.
