Bail Return Cancelled

Today is 28 days from the knock and my husband was due to report to the police station at 10am to answer bail.
Late yesterday evening the police contacet him to cancel this and said he would be given a new return date (and new conditions) today.
This would take his bail return outside the 28 day period, which is a bit odd. I'm also concerned I suppose that they will suddenly make the bail conditions more strict (they're quite strict already: he can't return to the house without a police escort though he can see our daughter in public under my supervision.)
Has this happened to anybody else?

I would imagine this is quite normal since the new bail restrictions came in which is why my Husband was asked to go in as a VA rather than be arrested and then bailed as they know full well they will not get the devices looked at in 28 days, We are 7 weeks on Friday and it is still at the station waiting to be sent off!

I think thats normal with bail. My husband was arrested in march and was due to go back after 28 days when he went back they bailed him for 2 months because they said they needed more time. 2 days before the 2nd bail ran out he had a phone call telling him they were going to bail him for another 28 days. Then he charged after the 3rd time and rebailed. Throughout it all his conditions remained the same. Even after he had been charged awaiting sentencing by the court it remained the same.

Week or so b4 next time to go he got a call saying they were trying to get an extension due to a back log. He return to station to be told it had been extended another 3 months. He is allowed access with the kids been on days out but sw will not let me supervise for some reason we have to have someone else with us at all times xx

The same sort of thing happened here. Although the process for us was fairly quick compared to some, dates kept being changed so try not to worry about that. When you are given a date you just have to be prepared that it will change. It makes things really difficult but looks like that is just the way it is unfortunately. X
