Hello all

i know this is quite low on the list if priorities throughout this terrible road. However I cant stop obsessing over the fact that my childrens father will not be able to attend any school/sporting events for the remainder of my childrens lives. We are still in the plea bargaining phase but looks like he will be serving a short sentence and SOR after with 10 years of probation. Is there any light that he will be able to attend sporting events for my kids once hes out? My kids love him and he was overly involved in their sports life prior to the knock and its breaking my heart for my children that he will never be able to watch them again. Any advice is welcome.

I'm in a very similar situation, my OH isn't on the SOR or has a SHPO placed on him. But the school have said he isn't allowed on the school premises. I have to attend parents evenings, award assemblies and stay and learns by myself just because of a stupid conversation he got involved in a year and half ago xx

Hi,

I approached the school and had it authorised that he can be on site with me currently and once off SOR he can be on site without me for drop off and collections xxx

Thank you everyone! So this is more the decision of the school district vs the actual law surrounding the SOR?

My sons offender manager communicated with the school on my sons behalf and had things put in place so he could go onto the school grounds with supervision. Its meant my son has been able to attend meetings with the teacher, pick his children up from school and attend the Christmas concert.

It's entirely up to the headteacher, I have kids in different schools. One is amazing , allows dad to have access to everything (no SHPO in place that legally prevents him from attending schools etc ) and the other one makes it as difficult as possible!
