With my sons plea hearing on Monday with have had very little contact with our solicitor, if I'm perfectly honest every email we have received has been regarding legal aid, we have asked a million questions and have received zero responses regarding his actual case! Is this normal for plea hearing stage? Even to the point I'm worried he may not turn up at magistrates as he has been that 'uninterested' I asked if we are to meet at court earlier than our appointed time to discuss case and still haven't received any response.

It's such an anxious time for you but we had exactly the same for plea hearing. My sons solicitor didn't get the paperwork through until the morning of court so they went through it all before he went in to the hearing. The court didn't call them in until they were ready.

Hi, can you request a face to face meeting? My son went into their offices a number of times and I, with him copied in, communicated by email when necessary.

My son was represented by the same solicitors and chambers, however I think I can name six different individuals who made appearances from arrest to sentencing. Even on the day of sentencing the barrister changed, which we were made aware of on the day. It's not uncommon although unerving.

Good luck x

Thanks so much this has settled my wandering mind some what.

I mean how hard is it to reply back and say all this stuff to us and that it will be discussed on the day of court, at least he wouldn't be bombarded. X x
