Does anyone know if SS take into account what teenage children say when deciding what to do? And if those children / young adults can make character statements?

In what regard? In my experience, no. My teenage children, who were mature and intelligent enough to understand what their dad was accused of, were interviewed by SS's the day of the knock at school. School confirmed they were perfectly well adjusted kids. They said they adored their dad and that he'd never so much as raised his voice at them let alone physically or sexually harmed them (crimes were online images "only"). So SS's said they couldn't have any contact with him whatsoever. No visits, no phonecall, no letter - nothing. But when I visited him in prison, there were LOADS of youn children there, some sat right next to him! This damaged my children as much as the original offence and I'll never forgive SS's for it. Apologies if I've read your post incorrectly. My mind is all over the place at the moment. X
