Just over two years ago, my ex-partner was arrested for possessing indecent images of children. About a year ago, I had to go through the distressing experience of hearing the details of his actions, leading to his conviction for having over 500 images, with 300 classified as category A, and the rest as B and C, all depicting children aged 4 to 12. He received an 18-month suspended sentence and a 10-year registration on the sex offenders list. I genuinely believe he should be behind bars, leaving us with a lasting trauma.

When he was arrested, our daughter was just 2 years old, and we had been separated since she was 5 months old. Now, she's nearly 5 and has no memory of him, which I hope to maintain until the right time when I can explain everything to her. She is a happy little girl and loves her life in the loving home I share with my partner of three years.

Now, months after his conviction, he has petitioned the court for visitation rights with my daughter, something I am obviously fighting against. This has turned my life into a nightmare, affecting not just me but my entire family. I’m currently facing £22,500 in legal fees, and the situation is still ongoing. Over the past five months, I’ve endured immense stress, anxiety, and turmoil. I've had to deplete my savings, use my daughter's savings, and even remortgage my house—all to protect her from my ex. This journey feels so lonely and I would greatly appreciate hearing from anyone who has experienced something similar. It took a lot for me to share my story here today.
