Had my initial PLO meeting today, relived that its out the way more than anything. The only thing that I found annoying what that the team manager was off sick so a different team manager stepped in who doesnt know us or all the issues we have.

They just asked me for my views on OH's offence, I accept that there is risk and I want to see evidence that that the risk is reduced. My solicitor helped out by querying some things in the PLO letter that were not right which made the SW squirm a little.

The 1st point they put is that "I didnt appreciate the sigificance of his offence".

When I asked the SW to elaborate she said that when he offended (In August 23) I didnt notice any change in his behaviour or notice anything not right in how he is acting so how would I know if he reoffends again etc..

My solicitor jumped on this straight away and said she is talking about a completley different topic now. There is a big difference between appreciating the significance of the offence and recognising offending behaviour. They are two different things.

My solicitor was good- she has asked for the PLO letter to be amended, whether they will or not is a different matter!

I'm so glad it went well!!

I was terrified when we were taken to PLO but also relieved with a legal rep on my side, SS days of pushing me around, making wild accusations, and treating them as facts were over. In hindsight it's a good thing especially if you are otherwise stuck.

Good on you, the lead up to the meeting is the most terrifying but if you've got good legal rep & you know that the SS have messed you about you can really see when they squirm!

Hopefully your case should really be moving along, and if not then you have your solicitor to back you up and put them in their place. Good luck out there xx
