Social work came out m this morning!!

Hubby isn’t allowed any internet as he's high risk at the moment, including his games console, the police officer who comes to see him at the house told him she doesn't like all his social media (same amount anyone else has) so wanted to internet access but told him he can still go on his console yet CJSW said he can't go on it

He isn’t allowed to see any of his nephews(all U16). Son isn't allowed friends over even though they are 16.

He’s not allowed to be left with our kids when I go to the loo or for a shower He might not be allowed to go to a concert that's been booked for a year because u16 can be there and when I said his sibling is also going (38 year old) they said for all we know he could still go to the toilet and a kid be there. Yet when asked well what happens if he needs the toilet when in the supermarket, they said that's fine

Holidays have to be risk assessed. Apparently they want to know the ages of the guests to make sure it's safe.

So much conflicting information

How many of these restrictions are actually written down and how many are the authorities inventing by themselves?

The wording of any order is what matters. The restrictions you describe go far beyond anything I have seen in any SHPO. If it is not written down in a court order, then it cannot be enforced.

However they do have powers of disclosure which can be used as a weapon to discourage people from doing things they disapprove of.

So they could threaten to disclose to a venue, but they cannot usually stop someone from going to that venue, unless the court order specifically forbids it.

These are examples of 2 of the conditions word for word (others are about employment being given the ok and unpaid work)

Prohibited from having any unsupervised contact or communication with anyone under the age of 16 years of age without prior approval from supervising officer - when I asked does that mean he can have supervised visits with family (nephews, I was told absolutely not) sons friends are 16 and have been told they can't come to the house. This is the condition that can't stop him from going to a concert even though his adult (38) brother would be with him.

The other thing he was told is if we are visiting a family member and someone comes over to their home unannounced with someone under 16, he must excuse himself and leave. Same if someone is to come to our home unexpectedly with someone U16

Prohibited from unsupervised access to the internet without permission of supervising officer or the police. Yet told to let the police who attend to check is history etc then told to get a burner phone. SW said police told them absolutely no internet yet the officer said no internet but can use gaming console.

we don't get a straight answer from anyone

The way the conditions are written, gives them plenty of room for interpretation unfortunately.

Realistically, the only way to get clarification or to get the order changed, is to go back to court.

Are SS allowing him to live at the house? My OH has no SHPO, or asked to sign the SOR and SS will not let him live at the house. SS have told us that they have different thresholds to the courts so they work on probabilities rather then actual evidence. I have found they can just say and do want they want unfortunately x

The court and police have no issues with him staying in the family home and the agreed suitable address is our home. As that has been added to the court order, SS are unable to ask him to leave as that would cause him to break his conditions.

So the new CJSW is totally confused by the conditions as they are not explained well!!

She really doesn't like the no internet rule as he should be allowed to access to internet banking and job searches. she also is confused by the need to search his internet history when he isn't allowed access
