I wasn't sure where to post this. Has anyone ever requested a FOI for the reports from social services? Our SW has lied to our faces on more than one occasion (I have always followed up on her comments with the school) so I would be interested in seeing what she's been writing or saying to her superiors
Funny you should say this. I did a SAR and got the paperwork on Thursday. Oh boy am I angry! Our history goes back to August 2023 and there were 184 pages. I only skimmed through a little bit of it as a lot is redacted that doesnt relate to you directly. She has been writing things like, she thinks domestic abuse is an issue, my OH is co-ercive and she thinks I should be asking for a divorce. She has also lied about a home visit least month. She documented that I ended the planned visit as I was too stressed to talk. Lies- all of it!! I'm unsure how to handle this now. It just backs up what you hear- they do lie and they get away with it x
Oh wow. That is awful. What you going to do?
I have never ever trusted them.

I'm in the PLO process so I'm just concentrating on getting through this first. I've nearly finished writing up a stage 3 complaint regarding how the whole case has been handled. But I am going to raise a fitness to practice issue with social work England. The SW did an updated child and family assessment that was used to escalate us to PLO, we were not included in the assessment, it's full of assumptions not backed by any evidence. I'm not letting her getting away with this x
Please keep me updated. They can't get away with this disgusting behaviour. You've got this x
I never had paper copies of anything; had to write our own safety plan from memory as never got a copy of the one they typed up which was agreed at the meetings. No minutes or details from any of the family meetings. the CPP conference minutes were emailed to me as was the capacity to protect outcome because that was down to a different department/person to do (the capacity to protect was littered with inaccuracies anyway; but was favourable so who was I to argue).
I had to put in a SAR to get a copy of our closure letter.
Id asked for a copy 3 times to be fobbed off with, "it's a different department that does that" then "it'll be a few days" and "I can't see your details on the system anymore so it must have been done".
When I did eventually get a copy over 2 months later. It was on crappy grey paper, no letterhead just printed with no signature just a standard "kind regards" sign off. With my child's WRONG date of birth (by 3 years).
They were also supposed to send a copy to school, which they never received; so I gave them a copy of the one I had.
(*insert whichever emoji conveys exasperation here*)

I've just sent off a lengthy email to Ofsted giving them feedback on the conduct of the authority regarding escalating to PLO. One part of it is that they removed an assessment with Lucy Faithfull in November 2024 as they wouldn't fund it. They put in the PLO letter that I refused to do the assessment. That's just a drop in the ocean!
Freedom of Information is not the correct way to access data that an organisation holds about you, its more for general data, statistics, policies etc.
What you would need to submit is a Subject Access Request. You may need to pay for this though.

I think you need to so a Subject Access Request for this sort of information. I've just done one for my mental health records as I'm trying to find any clues as to who phoned the Police to request information about my ex's 8 year old crimes.
After seeing this post I've just requested a sar. Especially as they are increasing things to a plo. There were thing in the cpp that are untrue so I want to see what else has been said. Because my daughter is over 12 I need to get her to write a letter giving me consent. This annoys me somewhat as they want consent for that but have failed to ask for any inpt about plo
Livvy- Have they sent you the assessment that resulted in it being escalated to PLO?
No I haven't. Meeting today is for her to discuss and give me letter. Should we have had an assessment 1st?
She is giving you the PLO letter today?
Yes- there must be an assessment done that has met the PLO threshold which has to be discussed in a legal gateway meeting. Your authority sounds like mine, things have been done behind my back.

This is a message I received from her today.
Morning Sam. No it’s a meeting to explain the PLO meeting - I will give you letters and dates about that today. Then at that next meeting you need a solictor.
Hope that makes sense

Thats awful Livvy- the PLO letter will tell you the date of the meeting and you need to find time before then to find a solicitor and get them up to speed with everything that has happened. It doesnt seem right that its just gone to PLO with no reason behind it. Start looking for a solicitor as soon as you get the PLO letter x
