Morning lovely fellow trauma-bonded strangers <3

My husband is at the police station tomorrow receiving his charge (1 count of attempted communication - no images) and court date, for first hearing at magistrate's court.

Quick Google suggests nationwide average of 34 days between charge and mags court so I'm guessing that'll land around mid June... does that fit with people's experiences?

Assuming he gets the opportunity to plead at that first hearing, and pleads guilty, he's been told there's a possibility of sentencing at mags too. Did anyone else actually have sentencing at mags? What was the time lapse between plea and sentencing at mags?

And if your person was referred to crown court for sentencing, what was that timeframe like?

Is a pre-sentencing report always obtained? Did anyone have sentencing there and then, or later but without a PSR?

Hi, sorry I can't help with your question but we are just a little behind you. It's been sent to the CPS so waiting to hear. How much notice did you get to go to the police to receive the charge? And also what does attempted communication mean? Mine OH is communication (decoy) without images aswell

Hope all goes well for you, this site is so informative, we were under the illusion we would just be sent a court date in the post, didnt realise he would be called back to the police station for the charge and court

Attempted communication means there wasn't a real child on the other end... no less repulsive imho! (Sorry I know you're in the same position and may feel that's a little harsh).
He got the call on Thursday to come in on Tuesday so pretty quick. Time from referral to CPS to decision was 12 days... it's now moving very quickly.

Morning my persons time frame was two weeks from charge to magistrates then approx another four weeks to sentencing at crown. His pre sentence report was done by zoom call a few days after he'd been to magistrates for plea hearing. He was on with her for about 90 minutes. Hope this is helpful x

I'd also like to know when social services came back on the scene if anyone can share their experience of that. Sorry for all the Qs. X

My OH had his plea appearance about a fortnight after being charged. He then returned to magistrates for sentencing a month after that. Making (all 3 categories, but low numbers) and a suspended sentence. So it was all wrapped up within 6 weeks. However, it was more than 5 years between arrest and charge so that may have played a part (or not, who knows). Pre sentence report was in person, about 10 days before sentencing.

I hope you find things move at the pace you need them to. I'm still grateful for your support when I was first thrown into this horror last year - willing you to be out the other side soon too.

Thanks for your reply Lisa... oh I totally agree... decoy or not, the intent was there for it to be a real person!

Can't wait for it to all be over, hopefully not long. Its the media side of things that scares me! Hope yours all goes smoothly! X
