Filming on Private Property/Family

A member of my family was filmed by stop stings at his doorstep on his property. This was over 2 years ago now, and we are still waiting for a court date or any more details from the police.
This incident was total out of character for this family member, and have since learnt of other health issues. But as stop stings put the video out there straight away, with no court case etc. Everyone, or almost everyone saw the video, a family was ripped apart. I contacted stop stings and said what about the children in this family??? Or don't they matter?? I'm not against them doing, what they call their job. BUT I AM AGAINST THEM MAKING IT PUBLIC BEFORE ANY SENTANCE, COURT CASE, EVIDENCE HAS BEEN HEARD.
I decided to fight back, contacting a solicitor who specialises in these cases, we got the video taken down. It is illegal for them to film on your property. Now we did have to pay, but I am hoping if more people contact them and threaten legal action, it will stop these videos being posted live.
If nothing comes of this situation I will see if it is possible to sue them, for stress, loss of earnings and anything else I can think of. But we have also to the family member, if you are found guilty, we will be here for you. Counselling was started straight away, and is ongoing. Of course I don't agree with what I am watching on stop stings regarding any child, but their should be a law that stops them from posting live.

How did you go about this my person was filmed in our driveway and they posted it Facebook October last year. He's been charged but still waiting on court dates
