Today my OH received another letter from his solicitor to say there is still no updates and the case is still with the CPS. Surly they can't take this long they've had it since January! Are they even looking at it :/ anyone had any positive outcomes? This has really knocked me back. It's coming up to the 2 year mark, when will this get easier ):

So sorry you are both going through this, we are too. 39 months since knock and we don't even know if it's been sent to the CPS yet. It's unreal isn't it? They know we will all keep quiet though because of the nature of the crime.

Are you both away from social service control? I wonder if our file getting pushed to the bottom of the pile because our kids are now over 18

Wow ???? that's a long time! My ss worker signed me off after 3 months and I reached out to her and got ignored /: we only knew it was sent to the CPS because my OH solicitor does updates every 28 days to see where it's at, my children are teens now, it's just stupid how long these things take. I don't stay quiet Iv complained about the police force in my area so many times there usless! X

In "our" case, the CPS took several months.

I'm guessing timings will differ so much as there are 14 CPS area hubs so there could be very different turnaround times depending on their individual efficiency.

I know that the one dealing with our case is made up of several counties. It's recommended not to disclose exact whereabouts on here which I do understand, but it makes comparisons a bit futile as it won't be 'like for like' as far as where the police have sent their investigations to. Plus of course I've no idea if they have any other methods to prioritise things or relegate them to the bottom of the pile. Then of course you have cases like Hugh Edwards who was all done and dusted in a record number of weeks.

(And yet I still avidly read threads like this looking for a bit of hope!)

Oh yeah fully understand everywhere is different and it will depend on the work load and more important cases etc just think it's an utter joke how long they leave it and how they leave you in limbo for years on end...

how many families have been ruined because of the length of waiting, how many times has the cases been passed to others or sent back without anyone informing you. There's no communication at all with the police force near me, half the time they don't have a clue about very much /:
