Hi all,

It's been a while since I have posted, the hearing just kept getting adjourned and it was so frustrating I just needed to get away from it all. My ex husband (separated 9 years) is the person, he pleaded guilty to three counts of distribution including cat A-C in October.

Our kids (14&12) have decided they want no contact with him. He strongly feels he will prison time and has made all the arrangements for if he does (with a friend). I am going along as I need to get closure to this for the children so I can explain what this next chapter looks like for them and help them to decide what their next steps are.

I feel sick though. Sick with worry about the outcome, sick with worry about it hitting the papers and sick of having to think of what he has put them through.

I hope everyone is doing ok, I really just needed a rant in the safest space I know x

I hope you get some form of closure tomorrow and the strength for a fresh start for you and your children. My kids are older than yours but they both decided they want nothing to do with him.

We are stronger than we think - you'll come out the other side fighting. Thinking of you tomorrow.

So today it was finally time, Sentencing took place (after a monumental fluff up by CPS last time when we all got there and they didn't have the supporting schedule!) I have to say I feel more wound up now than I thought I would. My ex is a compulsive liar but the lies that he has feed his defence barrister were disgraceful. Sob story about missing his kids (they have chosen not to have contact teenagers) however he got their ages wrong when giving the details to his barrister, shows how much he cares to even know how old they are!

He somehow (likely the prisons being too full) got 18 months suspended for 2 years, rehabilitation, community service, fees, 10 years SHPO and SOR.

We can draw a line and move forward but I am still so angry for putting his children through this!

Now the waiting game to see if this hits the press/social media!

I'm keeping everything crossed that nothing hits the media, but you've been strong enough to get through it all so far, so I bet you'll be able to ride it should it get out. You sound like a fantastic mum and I wish you and your family peace and a brighter future now sentencing is over xx

Thank you so much, everything I do is for them, they are my world!

Life is rumbling on as normal, a saving grace is that he lives out of the area so hopefully if it does hit the press it's there and doesn't get out round here. As you say, I will deal with it though if it happens.

I hope everyone is ok it's a rough ride but the relief knowing the outcome has finally hit.

Xx

Hiya,

The charges were for distribution however when in court for sentencing they advised he had also viewed them not just distributed them.

There were 360 odd cat a, 30 odd cat b and 10 cat c, moving images.

Hiya

I went along for the same reason, I needed to understand all that had happened so I could inform the children as best I could and also so that I was as informed as I could be! Sorry you are also part of the club that no one wants to join!

Crown courts tend to be open to the public unless they close it down due to being a child or a particularly sensitive case. I was able to attend with my partner at my ex's sentencing no problem.

If you are still at magistrates stages, as far as I am aware they are also open to the public but I didn't go to that hearing.

Also, the OIC of my ex's was very happy fore to phone her with questions, she was the one who told me what they had charged him with the day they charged him. This was only due to me being the mother of his children but was useful to have that contact when needed.
