Hi. The day is nearly here....my husband is finally in court the 27th....for all category of images
he has had a pre sentence report and seen a probation nurse regarding mental health and both have suggested that prison time will do more harm than good and suggest community order, also the barrister will be fighting in favour of a similar outcome, none of them mentioned SHPO but I assume everyone gets one??
so anxious, how long on average are the sentencing court sessions is it an all day thing?
we have character references, a highly experienced barrister, my husband is doing therapy and has worked hard to make so many changes to prevent such a thing happening ever again, he just wants to support us and get back home (10 month old son).
I just hope the judge follows everyone's suggestions and we are so scared, we've been through hell and can't bare it getting much worse ....next step is his risk assessments which will decide on him coming home, but social are waiting on court to be completed first, I finished my capacity to protect assessment over a month ago and they still haven't got it signed off, seems a coincidence that it's not done yet but it will be "done by the 30th" (just after court!!)
I could just do with some encouragement right now, is a partner in prison so hard to deal with? Can I see him plenty still at least once a week? We just want him home now, it seems like we're all being punished our poor little boy we didn't ask for this :(
they have said they reckon he comes under a 2 year threshhold for sentence, so hopefully he's not away too long if they do send him
but guess it's down to the judge
trying to keep strong

My person got a suspended sentence. On the day of sentencing he met his barrister at the court about 30 minutes before his time slot. I think he was in the court room for approx 30 minutes. No one had mentioned about an SHPO previously but he did receive one. He was charged with two attempted communications. Hope this is helpful.Wishing you the best of outcomes x
We're out
he got suspended sentence 12 months for 2 years
no community order and he was so impressed with my husband's rehabilitation so far.
he has no contact restrictions on SHPO, surely this now give social power to impose unsupervised contact now with our son??
Is he even technically restricted around any kids now, we won't act too soon without clarification but seems odd if there's no law stopping him coming home.i assume now it's just a battle with social and we can move on with our lives!?

You must be so relieved. All those possible outcomes swirling around your head. Sending you lots of love.
Much love to you. You must feel so relieved that the sentence wasn't worse and that that part is over now. Keeping everything crossed it stays out of the media. But if it doesn't, you've made it this far, you can get through that too. Xx
The relief must be indescribable.
Much love to you for the future x

Thankyou everyone!
we come out the court and turned out after we went in they put a sign on the door saying private court no media permitted
i wasn't aware they had done this but seen it on exit and was pleasantly surprised, someone was protecting us, not sure who's decision that was :)

That's wonderful no media was allowed. I'm so happy for you you don't have that to go through. Xx
