Just wondering how long was the wait for their person to be charged once sent off to the CPS. My OH had his 2nd interview on 1st may and we were told it was being sent off to the CPS.

Also once the decision to charge has been made what happens? My OH was told by the OIC that he would be sent something in the post with his court date but reading on here others had to go to the police station to be charged?

Hey Daisy you're a bit behind me on the conveyor belt of doom. Time from 'referred to CPS' to 'decision to charge' was 10 calendar days (there was a bank holiday weekend in there which I'm including). The OIC had decided (and told us) what charge he was seeking approval for, and CPS agreed it.
Husband was given a date to attend police station to be charged and given his court date; we already knew the charge as the OIC phoned husband on day of CPS decision. Police station appt was 5 calendar days later and his plea hearing is 16 calendar days from charging.

the disparity between different police forces is wild. There should absolutely be some consistency across forces, but I wonder if some are very advanced / streamlined (like my local force) and some more haphazard.
Sending you lots of hugs and strength x

Thanks for your reply! Yours seems so quick, I can't decide if I just want it over but then comes the fear of what's next!

My OH was bailed for 6 weeks once the evidence was sent to CPS - he has to report to the station unless we hear otherwise before hand. Xx

The times vary so much! Our knock was last June and he hasn't been on bail since December... just RUI. So kind of just a waiting game now!

We are on week 3 waiting for the CPS decision for a communication offence. To getting to this point has taking just x4 months which is quick compared to others on here x

Ex was told about 3-4 months once it went to CPS (for IIOC). It's been 2 months so far.

CPS was 23rd Dec 24 and they came back beginning of may 25.

Then magistrates was mid may and now crown is 9th June.

But this started in jun 23.

It's been a really long road and we had a baby in-between all this. So been the ultimate stress.

Hope you get answers soon. X
